Etta Clara Bell
Corbett Garson was born January 22, 1880 in Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois. She
was the third daughter of George William
Biston Corbett and Adaline S. Rowley
Corbett.
From her birth until about 1910, she lived with her parents
in the township of Cicero, Cook County, Illinois. In 1910 the family was in Oak
Park, Illinois.
On June 9, 1916 she married Otto Andreas Garson in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois and they
lived at 207 So. Ridgeland Ave. in Oak Park.

In the 1930 US Census, Etta is listed as an illustrator in
the art industry and she is noted as not having attended school. Otto is listed
as Director in the art industry. On July 18, 1934, Otto and Etta traveled from
Southampton, England arriving back in New York on the 24th of July,
1934 on a ship named Majestic.

The book “Featherland” is dedicated to her mother, Adaline
S. Rowley Corbett.
Etta passed away in 1968.
